Established in 2000, the event has gained national recognition as one of the top racing events of the year, and attracts the fastest boats in Australia. Top class is the Unlimited Displacements, including the BAD Boats, blown alcohol displacement, racing at over 120mph. (200kms+)
You will also be thrilled by the highly competive 6 litre injected and carby displacement classes, F1’s, Unlimited Outboards, 5 litre Displacements, Hydroplanes and other support classes. Over 70 boats make up a jam packed program of high octane action, providing brilliant value entertainment for racing fans and families alike.
Teams from around Australia compete for prize money, and major trophy honours in the Iron Nuts Shield, Trojan Cup, Brad Pratt Memorial, Wide Bay Australia Ltd Flying Mile, Bev Hiscox Memorial, Barry ‘Ocker ‘ Jackson Memorial.
The Wide Bay Australia Bundy Thunder is a major annual attraction in the Wide Bay region’s calendar of events. It is held in November every year.
